Step 1 Pentacam

At your initial consultation with our Laser Optometrist we use a pentacam to capture your corneal topography (corneal curvature) and to measure the corneal pachmetry (corneal thinkness) of your eye.

Step 1 Optilase

Step 2 - Refraction

The Laser Optometrist will also carry out a thorough eye examination using a smart refractor which gives us your current prescription which determines your suitability and indicates the most appropriate treatment for you.

Step2 Optilase

Step 3 - Wavescan

The Wavescan machine is used to measure and map the unique characteristics of  your eye. This allows the surgeon to develop an individualised treatment plan to address your  needs. The surgeon will meet you for a pre-operative consultation in advance of your surgery date to discuss your treatment in detail.

Step3 Optilase

Step 4 - Surgery

On your surgery day anesthetic drops are placed in your eyes and a flap will be created on your cornea. The masurements from the Wavescan are input to the Laser to perform your treatment. Typically the surgery takes approximately 15 minutes per eye.

Step4 Optilase

Step 5 - Post Operative Care

After your surgery you will notice results almost immediately, and your vision will continue to improve over the next few days. In the case of LASIK you will have your first post op consultation the day after your surgery and for LASEK it is typically after 5 days.

Post operative care lasts approximately 12 months for most patients.
