Thank you very much to all at Optilase. Its 16 months since my surgery, and I've had a whole new lease of life. The professional and friendly staff were brilliant at every meeting and my eyes have been perfect since the day of surgery.

At Optilase, our primary concern is caring for you and your eyes. That's why our team have tailor made our service with you in mind. Our flexible opening hours, including weekends and late evenings, allow us to tailor your assessment, consultation and surgery to fit into your busy schedule.
Although laser eye surgery with Optilase is quick and relatively pain free, over the following 6 to 9 months post surgery we will monitor your progress and you should expect to attend our post operative clinic.
1. Initial Free Consultation
When you first come to visit us in Optilase, you will meet with one of our team of friendly Optometrists who will carry out a full eye health exam and assess whether you are a successful candidate for laser eye surgery.
Your Optometrists will also answer any questions you may have regarding laser eye surgery, explain the different options available to you and also talk you through the procedure itself.
The consultation will take roughly one hour and can be arranged for a time suitable to you.
At the end of the visit, a Pre-Operative consultation with one of our Ophthalmic Surgeons can be booked.
2. Pre-Operative Consultation
At this appointment you will meet one of our surgeons who can further familiarise you with the details of the surgery and answer any additional questions you may have. Your Optilase surgeon will carry out a further eye
examination and give final approval for surgery.
If you then choose to avail of surgery, you will meet with one of our Clinic Administration team who will take you through the necessary paperwork and payments.
3. Surgery
Your Surgery will normally be carried out within one week of your Pre-Operative Consultation. On the day, you should bring a friend or family member to accompany you. When you arrive at the clinic you will be greeted by one of the Optilase team who will ensure that you are cared for throughout your visit. You will then meet the team, including your Surgeon, Nurses and Technician, who will be with you for the duration of your surgery.
The procedure itself will only take a few minutes. Your team will be there to help and support you all the way through. After your operation you will move to our recovery suite where your Surgeon will carry out a brief Post-Operative examination on your vision. Once ready, your nurse will take you through and explain the full aftercare routine you need to follow.
After this you will receive a full information pack, including our 24 hour aftercare contact number.
Your entire visit should be no more than two hours.
4. Post-Operative Care
As part of our commitment to your ongoing care, Optilase's after aftercare programme will include on average 6 visits back to the clinic over a 9-12 month period. All Post-Operative appointments with our optometrists will include a thorough eye examination.
All appointments should take no longer than twenty minutes of your time.
After you are discharged from our aftercare programme you should require no further visits, but should you have any concerns then Optilase and our after care team are here to help at any time.
